Luke 8:16-17: Light or Dark?
Luke 8:16-17 paints a good picture of light and darkness in our lives. Verse 16 reminds us not to cover our lights, but to "setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light." We must do our best to let our Christianity shine brightly in order to encourage, comfort, and even sometimes gently correct others.
Verse 17 reminds that "nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest." Christ knows and sees all. Even if no other person ever discovers your sins, God will ALWAYS know. He may even find a way for others to discover your secrets as well.
It is our choice - live in the Light or hide in the dark. I choose the Light!
(Luke 8:16-17) No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither anything hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
