(Proverbs 3:5-7) Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord and depart from evil.
(Proverbs 6:16-19 & 27-28) These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?
(Proverbs 8:17-21) I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. / Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. / My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. / I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
(Proverbs 8:32-36) Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. / Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. / Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. / For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
(Proverbs 11:30) The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
