1 Corinthians 3:13, 16-17 & 6:9-10 & 19-20: Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost?

Anyone else sick of the saying, "my body, my choice?" In the matter of abortion where we so commonly hear this term, the unborn baby growing inside a woman in not her body but the baby's body, and she has no right to cause harm to that child.  In terms not related to pregnancy, it is still only our choice in what we do with our bodies? Yes, God gave mankind a freewill, but as 1 Corinthians clearly states, once you choose to become a Christian, you are welcoming Jesus to dwell in you, and therefore, you must do your best to keep your body (temple) holy as God is holy.  

For people who claim there is nothing in the Bible that speaks against drugs (such as marijuana), consider these verses.  There is no such thing as a harmless drug.  Also, the Bible does say not to get drunk which is the equivalent of getting high.

God is not being a controlling bully by giving us rules, but He wants to protect us from harmful substances and lifestyles that cause cancer and other diseases. He also wants to protect others from harm, so the rules are also meant to prevent us from hurting other people.

As old as the saying may be, it will always ring true: "What would Jesus do?"  Think of that saying (or imagine Jesus is sitting beside you because He is always in the room) before you watch that violent, sexual, occultic program (or read a novel), pick up a harmful substance, are prepared to have sex outside of marriage, steal, etc...       

I will let the scriptures below speak for themselves, so please carefully and prayerfully consider all you read.

(1 Corinthians 3:13, 16-17) Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

(1 Corinthians 6:9-10 & 19-20) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
