Matthew 21:21-22: Faith to move Mountains
Notice that Jesus does NOT say, "I will give you whatever you want, no matter what." It takes faith and not doubt. We also must remember that, though God is gracious beyond measure, what we ask for must be within His perfect will in order for Him to answer our requests.
The best way to increase your faith is not to rely on your own strength, but to call upon the Power of God with prayer, praise, and bible study.
Do not be fooled into thinking that God only listens to people when they pray in large groups such as at a church service. Your prayers as an individual or with even one other person (such as your spouse) are just as powerful. (Matthew 18:20 -For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.)
If you are lacking faith, please still pray and talk to Jesus about the reasons for your lack of faith. Oftentimes The Holy Spirit can encourage you and help build your faith, thus increasing the power in your prayer life. I’m not just preaching to the choir; I often struggle in the area of faith, but God is gracious and only requires faith the size of a mustard seed. That’s great news not only for me, but for you as well.
Also remember that James 5:16 reminds us that those who chose to live lives according to the ways of Jesus Christ are more likely have their prayers answers, not just those who call on God when it is convenient. (James 5:16 The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.)
(Matthew 21:21-22) Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, "If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
