Sunday, Mel preached for the first time ever! The pastor at our church, Good News Community Church, felt led of the Lord to ask Mel to preach. The sermon was so anointed and inspired by God. I can't do his words justice by trying to repeat what he said, he was so articulate and wonderful, so I'll simply sum up what he preached out: He spoke about the fruit of the Spirit and true repentance and the dangers of false religions. He also shared a dream God had given him about what it truly means to backslide as a Christian - there is no such thing as "once saved, always saved," and Mel did an excellent job of pointing this out. He spoke the Truth in love and was obedient to the Holy Spirit's prompting him on how to direct his sermon. The congregation was very responsive w/ lots of "amens" and nodding of heads in agreement. He even had two men request to speak w/ him after the service! And many in the church told him how much they loved his message. I know the bible says not to boast, but I am so proud of my husband! This is just the very beginning of the ministry God has before him... I can't wait to hear Mel speak again. By the way, check out his blog (I listed a link a few blogs ago).
